Q: How did you get involved with Healing Touch for Animals®?
A: I had an aging dog that doctors put on medications that made him very disoriented and not himself. I knew there had to be a better way. I was already using Young Living essential oils but wanted to learn more on how to help my dogs live their best life. I found HTA and took the Level 1 class. I didn’t know anything about energy work, so I was very surprised and disbelieving in the first day of class. The following days, working with dogs and horses, were unbelievable in a new way. The animals responded to the techniques and became very relaxed and calm. Then I started feeling warmth and vibrations in my hands. Changes were happening and once I started using HTA techniques on my dogs, I knew that it was helping them feel balanced and calm. My dog aged gracefully to very old age.
Q: How are you using HTA in your personal or professional life?
A: I started my business part time in 2019 and then Covid hit. It was actually a great time to learn more about energy work and I was able to complete more HTA classes as well as become a Reiki Master. I do energy work almost every day, either with clients or with my family. It is an integral part of my life. The majority of clients look for energy work to help their pet with trauma, changes in their life, old age, and health issues. The people I see are looking for anxiety and stress relief. Any time I work on another, I also benefit from receiving the balancing effects of energy movement.
Q: How do you stay engaged with your HTA practice?
A: Just do the work! Don’t get hung up on needing to be perfect or feeling silly about using your book to look at instructions for techniques. If you only know one, then do that one. Eventually you will want to try the others. Since I do energy work regularly, I try to build connections with other animal professionals to stay engaged with my HTA work. I work closely with an animal chiropractor, a human chiropractor, an acupuncturist, and a dog trainer. We support each other and provide referrals. Build a network of others to share your wins, your lows, and work through complicated cases.
Q: What is your favorite HTA technique?
A: I find that the majority of my sessions start with Hara Repair and Balance™. Then I usually do a second technique based on need — often it is Grounding and Focus™ or Vertebral Release and Repair.™ For people, I love Hara Suspension™. Interestingly, there are many instances where I use techniques from Level 1 and Level 2. I’ve had several dogs that ate something they shouldn’t have, and Magnetic Clearing™ always works to get things moving. HTA provides such an assortment of energetic tools to fit the situation.
Q: What has been the most rewarding part of HTA for you?
A: Every day, from every client, I learn something new. I am constantly humbled at what I don’t know and amazed at what has been shown. Sometimes I expect a certain response or outcome and the result is so much more powerful than what I thought. For example, I was called for a Euthanasia Protocol and when I first saw the dog I thought for sure it was time for her to transition. But the initial assessment showed almost all chakras open and the dog had so much vibrancy. The owner didn’t understand why her dog was sticking around with all the health issues, or why I had to recommend against euthanasia. The dog still had a job to do. Two weeks later, this dog saved her son’s life. She now holds a revered spot in the family as an angel dog and is in good health.
