Dana Brady is a Level 3 Healing Touch for Animals® Practitioner in northern Illinois. Read more below about her favorite techniques and how she’s helping animals through HTA with both in-person and distance work sessions.
Q: How did you get involved with Healing Touch for Animals?
A: I was fairly new to the concept of energy healing when I attended an energy event hosted by Katherine Skaggs. I asked her for guidance on ways to help and heal animals. She immediately recommended — with great enthusiasm — HTA. From there, I signed up for Level 1 and have been nurturing my confidence and skills ever since.
Q: What is your favorite HTA technique?
A: I only get to pick just one? That’s tough. At this moment, my favorite technique is Etheric Heartbeat™. It’s my most common practice to end a session. I love how the heart chakra energy continues to flow beautifully in the body long after the session ends. To me, it feels very wholesome and calming for the animal. When I leave (or end a distance session), I envision a big heart wrapped around the animal, like a gentle hug.
Q: What have you done to grow your HTA practice?
A: I volunteer at a local dog rescue here in northern Illinois. Until a month ago, I was going to the facility to conduct in-person sessions with the pups. Now that I am Level 3 certified, I am able to volunteer even more with distance healing sessions. I continue to visit the shelter and work one on one with the dogs. I just love how I am able to help more pups with remote healing when I can’t be physically with them.
Q: How do you stay engaged with your HTA practice?
A: Volunteering is the number-one activity that helps build my confidence, strengthen my understanding, and increase my comfort in working with many different techniques. I will admit, I was afraid to contact shelters to offer my services for free. Believe it or not, the first rescue I reached out to (upon recommendation from an acquaintance) leapt at my services! People are so excited and grateful for what we as HTA practitioners do. I also love attending the HTA Monthly Mentorship calls and learning from every question. I take notes for future reference.
Q: What has been the most rewarding part of HTA for you?
A: Watching the shift in the animal to a more calm, grounded, relaxed state (and in some cases, reduction of discomfort) makes it all worthwhile. All animals deserve this way of being and I am grateful to HTA Founder Carol Komitor and all practitioners who bring a greater sense of wellness to these beautiful souls.
