Sonja Rohde is an Advanced Proficiency 3 (AP3) Healing Touch for Animals® Practitioner in Bielefeld, Germany. Through her practice, Spirit of Owl, she works with animals and their people, specializing in horses.
Q: How did you get involved with Healing Touch for Animals?
A: After more than 25 years as a riding instructor and equine therapist, and also working in horsemanship and animal communication, I came across HTA. During my training with Anna Twinney, I was introduced to essential oils. In 2019, Anna offered a webinar with Carol Komitor about how Carol uses oils in HTA. As a trained energy therapist since 2012, I knew right away that I wanted to learn more about Carol’s training and took my first HTA course in 2020. Now, five years later, I feel very fortunate to have participated in the first ever AP3 course, in the Netherlands. This has taken my understanding of HTA to a whole new level.
Q: How are you using HTA in your personal or professional life?
A: Professionally, I work as an energy practitioner, primarily using HTA. I also participated in the first three levels of the Healing Touch Program, and I apply these techniques to humans. I also incorporate aspects of animal communication and other spiritual approaches into my work. My lovely cat also benefits from HTA. Due to his past, veterinary visits are highly problematic. I have been able to help him in two critical situations without a vet: an open wound and a multi-day period of apathy of unknown origin. In both cases, my cat’s health soon improved and a complete recovery occurred surprisingly quickly. Furthermore, I use HTA regularly for my own self-care. I’m taking on cases within our HTA community whenever I have availability.
Q: What is unique about your HTA practice?
A: In every session, I sense a loving and special connection. It feels like a journey through different levels of consciousness. There is so much to discover. I feel particularly drawn to cats, horses, donkeys, and mules. I relish working on acute health problems. I also use HTA to successfully address behavioral problems in animals.
Q: What is your favorite HTA technique?
A: In addition to the Hara techniques from Level 4 onwards, “Laser” and the clearing techniques from Level 1 are among my most important tools. These can be used quickly and effectively in acute treatment situations. As a first-aid measure, they complement my treatments — especially related to injury, infections, surgery, or pain. The powerful techniques from AP2 and even more so from AP3 are marvelous.
Q: What has been the most rewarding part of HTA for you?
A: Through HTA I’ve discovered tools that allow me to support quality of life, regardless of circumstances, conditions, or prognoses — always working for the highest good. Furthermore, HTA has contributed to my personal development, energetically and spiritually. Getting involved with HTA has fueled my motivation to bring more light into the world.
