Lynn Caldwell is a Healing Touch for Animals® Certified Practitioner (HTACP) serving the Yellow Springs, Ohio, community through her business Hands of Light, Healing Touch for Animals®. She will obtain her Advanced Proficiency certification this month. Lynn is also a Certified Animal Acupressure Practitioner.

Q: How did you get involved with Healing Touch for Animals?
A: As a certified animal acupressure practitioner, I look for CE classes to maintain my certification. My cat’s holistic veterinarian suggested HTA, thinking I would enjoy this modality. I took the Level 1 class online, then took Level 2 in person and loved it. I continued to practice the techniques and take higher-level classes over the years, finally allowing me the confidence to apply for and obtain certification in 2025.

Q: How are you using HTA in your personal or professional life?
A: As a certified practitioner of both HTA and animal acupressure, I love introducing HTA techniques to my clients, who are consistently amazed by the results. Because HTA resonates so profoundly with me, it has become my primary choice for care. I especially value the distance healing approach, which allows me to extend energy work to animals who otherwise may not have the opportunity to receive it.

Q: What is your favorite HTA technique?
A: After the Hara techniques, I really like Bridging™. The technique helps animals recenter and focus, and it promotes such deep relaxation. People are so amazed and they comment on the calmness of the animal.

Q: How do you stay engaged with your HTA practice?
A: I read my HTA books again and again to make sure I understand what I am doing when working with a client. I also follow the HTA Student Facebook Group page and sign up for the Monthly Mentorship Meeting. If I can’t attend when the call is scheduled, I listen to the recording — and I learn something every time. Interacting with peers is invaluable. Having a reliable sounding board for complex questions and difficult cases is often what makes the difference in finding the right path forward.

Q: What has been the most rewarding part of HTA for you?
A: Watching the changes in an animal’s behavior or recovering from an illness or injury is very rewarding. I love hearing the comments when a person sees the effects HTA has on their animal as well as on themselves.
